Past O'Reilly Scholars / K Smyth

Ms. Katherine Smyth, from Dublin, graduated with honours from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. with a Master of Arts in Security Studies, where she specialised in interventionism, peacekeeping, and use-of-force issues, and refugee management and post-conflict reconstruction. She is a First Class Honours graduate from University College Dublin, where she completed a Master of Arts degree in the History of International Relations, and was awarded College Medals and Scholarships for outstanding academic achievement. Katherine interned in the Capitol Hill office of Senator Chris Dodd and with the American Enterprise Institute, and presented academic research at conferences and seminars on international security in Washington.
Katherine has worked at a number of the world's most prominent think-tanks, including the Center for Strategic Studies (CSIS), the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and currently the Hudson Institute in Washington, DC.
